Project Description
Today I will save the world by making a commercial in Accra, Ghana for Green Day and advertising it two weeks up to green day. I would like to make this a reality because I would like my kids to be safe in the future and be able to breathe fresh air like I can today.![]() |

Ghana
Ghana has a population of 25,199,609 and is located in west Africa. It is one of the main places where e-waste, (or recycling used electronics) takes place. (High tech toxic trash causing horrendous pollution in Ghana, 11/5/2008)

Solution
As part of my project, I will make a commercial to help show people what green day is and how to be economically friendly. To make a national commercial, it would cost $100,000 to air the 30 second commercial around 20 times. To make the commercial itself, it would cost anywhere from $1,500 to $3,000. Now, because they is only $25,000 in prize money, and I do not have another $75,000 to give away, I would have to get some sponsorships. To do this, I would go to the President of Ghana for support because he would want the people of Ghana to live healthier, happier lives. I could also go to any of the main television companies that are in Ghana such as GTV news, Metro TV, V-NET TV, CNN, or Fantazia TV. They could lower the price that it would cost to put my commercial on their television station or make it free to air completely, which they would like because they are Ghana citizens too and would want to make the air healthier for them and their children.(Ghana Web, Television, 2013)

How Will This Benefit The Rest Of The World?
This will benefit not only Ghana, but also places around the world. Like I mentioned before, the pollutants travel to other countries by water or air, and eventually gets all over the world. If we do not stop it, our children or grand children will be affected, no matter where they live. Another byproduct of the pollution would be global warming. By reducing pollution, we would reduce the amount of harm done to the ozone layer, therefore slowing down global warming.(Pollution, 2013)

Conclusion
In conclusion, an idea to make a commercial to help teach the people of Ghana about Green Day is not only a good idea for the short term reasons, but also an amazing plan for the long term effects it will have.
A Little Bit About Myself
My name is Natalie Shears and I am currently a provincial swimmer for the Ducks. I am currently in grade 10, and have three siblings and a dog and love to watch them play their respective sports (not my dog of course!!). I love the environment and want to keep it as clean as possible for my future kids. If you've stuck throughout his entire blog, I want to say thank you for reading it and I hope you enjoyed it. Who knows, maybe I'm reading yours right now!
